New York, NY – Representatives for the National Football League have officially denied quarterback Eli Manning’s request to wear a pink thong for Monday night’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles, and for the remaining games in the 2015-2016 season.
Manning officially made his request to the league office today, asking for special permission to wear the pink Victoria’s Secret “Date no-show thong” under his official uniform for the remainder of the season.
“Frankly, I think it’s wrong they won’t let me wear this undergarment to honor my mother,” Manning said at the conclusion of Tuesday’s practice. “That’s as far as a comment as I’ll make. I suppose my black thong will have to do for Monday night’s game.”
October of course is Breast Cancer Awareness month and the National Football League participates in increasing awareness and education of the disease that effects so many women worldwide.
However, NFL officials were confused at the request, as nobody in the front office knew, or could find any evidence, that Eli’s mother Olivia Williams Manning had ever been diagnosed with breast cancer.
“Who said this had anything to do with breast cancer?” Manning said, before trotting back into the locker room.
